round 5 tips..
woho, i thought of a new use for my blog.. tipping suggestions for afl!
round 5
port V geelong @ aami
last years premiers have struggled lately. their only win coming at home against the lions (who almost came back in the last minutes of the game) and last week a draw at home against the blues.the cats are in a similar position. absolutely smashed 2 weeks ago against the dee's and last week beating essendon (probably not all that surprising considering they are bottom of the ladder). so who's going to win? port, but only because they are at home
roos V hawks @ the g
hawks are up after a win, not really sure why, you can count all their wins from the last 30 games of football on one hand. sure they beat the lions, but the lions at the time had only 1 more win than they did! completely over using the footy their win was nothing more than pure luck. any in form team will make them pay for that style of footy.. enter the roos. winning each game, including the tight ones they will win for sure.
freo V carlton @ subiaco
blues in the same position as port. they look good, had some recent form but just haven't yet taken off on 05. freo were very disappointing last week (like always in melbourne). they will settle down back in the luxury of their home ground and will take the points. tough couple of weeks for the blues with two tough road trips.
sydney V melbourne @ scg
the dee's smashed last week by the saints. first loss of the season so its not panic station time just yet. although going into the "way to small scg" to play the swannies who will be ropable losing at home last week after beating the lions @ the den the week before. this could be a great game, and just as easily be a terrible game. depends what game the swans bring to the table. the flood that everyone loves at the minute, or a free flowing structured game of footy. swans at home by a squillion.
dogs V crows @ the dome
who knows about the doggies. they can be a strong one week, then look like a pack of amateurs the next. crows on absolute fire with a win against the power followed by a win on the road against the swans. thats going from one of the biggest grounds to the smallest and still clearly out classing their opponents. with a win two weeks ago at the dome they return to take on the dogs. not really even sure what more to say about the doggies, barking one week then put down the next. tough one against the coasters, they showed a bit of grunt but fell away towards the end. lets pick the crows.
brisbane V west coast@ gabba
well on an even playing field on dont think anyone in their right mind would pick the lions this week. the coasters have won the past few matches at the home of the lions which is not bad against the strongest team in the land in the past few years. without using any facts i would say they have probably won more games at the gabba than any other team (besides the lions themselves). the lions being completely outclassed by hawthorn last week who lets face it suck recently, wont be too confident against an un-defeated team in the coasters. west coast to win
saints V tigers @ the dome
the saints had the goods last week against an in form dees was a complete surprise. the saints hit hard by injuries to key players looked like they would struggle for a decent score against melbourne. but like always in football, nothing is as it seems and they completely out classed the dee's, including the scoreboard. apart from last week the saints have been disappointing up forward with an un-fit g-train, no reeeeeeevolt or kosi-edge-ski! they are really depending on their mid-field. the tigers had a blinder last week. they played just like the hawks with a truck load of possessions, not unlike any other week but for a change they actually used them properly. but with 3 wins on the board maybe they have learnt how to overuse the footy to their advantage. i guess richmonds game all comes down to richo. will he fire? will he sook like a girl? will he kick a bucket load of points? anything could happen in front of the packed dome on sunday sunset. go saints!
essendon V pies @ the g
it looks good to have the bombers on the bottom of the ladder! its about time they took their turn down there. every other team has spent their fair share of time fighting for wooden spoons (especially my team!). having said that i dont think they'll be there for long! the pies have been hit by a captain curse. no bucks, no pebbles and a few others missing it doesnt look good. can tarrent take on the responsibility of kicking goals (rather than points). lets face it, he's going to have to... again this could be a great game, or one of the worst, however these two teams always seem to fire on anzac day, especially hirdy who will win the best on ground. bombers to win.
seeya monday arvo for the results
