post bali check-in

for those waiting for my post bali weight check-in, here it is:

current weight: 82kg
bali gain: @2kg
remaining: 10kg

I think i put on a heap more weight while in bali however the hint of bali belly made me lose about 5kg!

home again

well the holiday is over but the plans for the next bali adventure have already started. its an amazing place and we will certainly return. and why wouldn't you return when a 2 week holiday there is certainly cheaper than 2 weeks interstate plus the added experience of a different culture. i cant ride a motorbike on the road without a license or a helmet in sydney now can i!!!

holiday highlights:

• cheap "oakley" sunglasses (around 30,000 rup wich is about $4, rip off considering steve got them for 10,000 rup)
• the overall shopping and bargains on the street. (always start at 60% of the initial offer and then expect to bargain back towards 50% of the initial offer)
• the beer. (always looking at spending under $2 for a standard size stubby of bintang which is a very bloody nice beer. you can drink it all day long!)
• riding motorbikes around the streets of ubud. certainly a must do over in bali. if we had the balls we would have rented them from the first week in kuta, rather than the last few days.
• the temperature. its absolutely perfect. nice warm nights for outside dining. nice warm days for swimming etc. probably a different story in the wet season when the humidity takes its toll
• the food. its so bloody cheap. if you pay more than $5 for a main meal you are being ripped!
• the people. i know their main source of income is via tourists so of course they are going to be nice to the aussies, but the people are genuinely nice. even the beggars with their hand out asking for money are polite and say thankyou when you tell them to bugger off and get a job like everyone else!

stay tuned for photos etc at a later point. i have arrived home with a small bout of bali belly. i guess its better getting it now at home than over there (perhaps a few sick days ;)

its hot, its damn hot!

with no shortage of beers or bargains, bali is great! from $5 oakley sun glasses to $1 beers you really cant go wrong in this place. the people are so nice and the weather is perfect. i would love to show you all some of my photo's but i'm afraid it would only make you all jelous! there really isn't much more to say other than i really love this place and that i'll definently be back some time soon. i hope everyone is well back at home and abroad. see you all when i get back or if i get a chance to write back here soon. (i have had too many bintabng beers and need a piss!)
